A Spanish company launches onto the market mobile covers that prevent 99.99% of radiation

This company has released the cover EM SAFE for mobile phones, made by hand, which reduce emissions of electromagnetic radiation caused by these devices. 

Those covers are made of genuine leather’s materials and 100% wool felt mixed with other art containing 80% nylon and 20% silver. There are two lines to the covers design and its price is around 20 euros each one. 

   The initiative comes on the heels of Mary Passas Varo, a young businesswoman Andalusian, engineering and scientific who after learning the results of the report by the World Health Organization in establishing a significant relationship between the use of mobile devices and increased chances of developing cancer due to radiation by animal testing. 

The electromagnetic fields emitted by the phones have been classified as "possibly carcinogenic" to humans because they relate to a type of brain cancer. This fact is relevant given that there are nearly 5,000 million mobile phones in use today and growing increases among children and adults.

It seems impossible that a mobile phone could emit that high amount  of electromagnetic fields in our lifes, and in my point of view, this initiative is so good for those ones who work frequently with their phones. 

As a personal experience, I have to say that my father uses his phone to talk every hour because of his hard job, so this type of covers can reduce the probability of cancer in a future. If it works, this company will sell a lot and it is the synonim of a good business!

    Meanwhile, my father won't use it although he buy it, as for him it should be rather uncomfortable.

A rubber duck almost 20 meters high covers the main ports of the world

Florentijn Hofman travels around the world with a singular purpose: to drop traditional rubber ducks in major ports.

This week a rubber ducky of 16.5 meters high are passing through Victoria Harbour Hong Kong (China), although this is not their only destination. The Duch artist is devoted to drop in the main ports of the world this unique toy, traditionally designed to float in the tubs.                                                                 “Bring more love and joy to the city and change the perspective of the Hong Kong skyline’s Victoria Harbour as never again will be the same”, said Hofman about the duck.

   In my point of view, bring rubber duckies around the most important ports of the world is a nice way to give out happiness, like said the author. Moreover, it can increase the tourist in those respectives cities, as if this duck was in Barcelona, I will displace to there in order to see it. Shops, restaurants and hotels near the port could have an important economic injection. With this yellow duck idea, art has a new way to transmit and who know, maybe in a few months we will see a zoo floating through the Atlantic ocean.

Thousands of British academics come to Salou to celebrate Easter week

It has become a tradition at this time. Thousands of British “occupy” the Catalan village of Salou to spend Easter week. At the time, 4000 of the 9000 people expected, have reached. However, many residents complain of disturbances, noise and dirt that they cause. Others, like the innkeepers, give the welcome to students with open arms by the economic boost they represent. 

They take advantage of the sun and the good weather that is in the Catalan coast, and not enjoy at home, to enjoy the passing days in Spain. They make sport games on the beach but always with a glass of alcohol in their hands. 

It is called the “Saloufest” for them and this year is the thirteenth edition .

It sounds heavy  as lot of academics take for a week the beaches of Salou to get sloshed and to have fun as when someone is young it seems funny and cool, but for the people from the village, I think that it has to be really annoying and tired. Seeing that your town becomes  dirty and a night life place make you feel worry for your family and your house. What have to think the little ones? And the people arround the world, from the city? 

In my opinion it has to be good and funny but with a limit, always respecting the citizen and the diferents places that they go as the beaches, the hotels, the streets, ....

Clear victory of Real Madrid

Real Madrid team win the two matches with to FCBarcelona. With the alternates and without Cristiano in the side, the whites were able to subdue the Catalans, thanks to goals from Benzema and Ramos. To the other hand, Messi scored the Blaugranas team, but Cristiano, who came off the bench, revolutionized the match. 

Finally, the local team won the match 2-1 in the football league competition. Despite the defeat, Barça team still leading the classification with several more points.

The FCB team is probably the best team of the world nowadays, and these defeat is only a bit obstacle for the players. Moreover, we have to consider that Tito Vilanova has cancer, and in fact, he mustn't train the team now. I supose that all the team are slightly affected on it, as having a cancer is not easy for anyone.

I belive in Barça team and specially in Tito! 

PD: I couldn’t saw the match but thanks to my grandfather, who is a fan of Madrid’s team, I knew the result at the same night. 

A flood stops up to 15 Regent Strett stores trading

A flood in central London has shut one of the city’s busiest shopping streets. Aproximately 15 shops, including Zara, Mango, Burberry, Uniqlo and Austin Reed, had being blocked off by a cordon set up by firefighters, who were attempting to pump water away after the burst on Vigo Street. 

It happened today during midday, and thousand of tourists couldn’t visit the famous street.

This is the most important part of this news that I can explain, as it had happened  a few hours ago and the information is not fairly clear. 

   Apart of having not much information, I want to said that If I had been a tourist visiting the London center now, and I couldn’t visit that, or just shopping on the stores from there,  I would be quite angry and disappointed with the city. 

I went to London a year ago and fortunatly it didn’t happen, so I could visit quitly, the most important streets and famous trading.

Spain leads the world in Whatsapp use!!

Spain is the country with the greatest presence in the instant messaging application WhatsApp, due to the high cost of SMS. Other applications like Viber or Line have failed to unseat Whatsapp.

The Mobidia Technology company conducted a study indicating that Spain is the country wtih more presence in the instant messaging application WhatsApp. It is mainly due to the high cost of SMS that Spanish telephone companies have. WhatsApp has nearly 100% market penetration in this country, so it’s a very important effect in today’s society. 

   In my case, I have to recognize that I’m a person who uses Whatsapp aplication every day, and even each hour. It’s so practical and confortable, cause we can be connected with people that is far from us and paying the same each month, with no extra taxas depending with our consume. I think that this application has been a important business in the mobile phone world and a big progres in the comunication. 

The first mobile phone was created 30 years ago and during this period its technology has improved considerably.

Ciccio dies; the dog waited every day at church to its owner dead

Tommy, the German shepherd who everyone knew as Ciccio, died at the age of 13 years. 

It shocked the world by loyalty to his owner Maria Lochi, who came daily to the church of Santa Maria degli Angelum, in San Donaci (Bridisi, Italy) and who died two months ago of a heart attack.

The dog became famous for mourn the death of his owner, going every day to the church, where the funeral was held for women of 57 years.

   This fact is very sad, as the love from an animal to someone could seems impossible, but here, we can see that it’s not true. 

This piece of news reminds me the film of Hachiko, the dog that died waiting for his owner in a train station ( it was a real story that happened on Tokio on 1935), and for that reason I decided to give it an special importance. 

I’ve got a dog, and since I saw this film I didn’t think that it could be true, but now, and after reading this piece of news, I am really conscious about the loyalty that a dog can has to its owner.

Volleyball Sant Pere Pescador begins the second phase of ascent home

The senior women's volleyball team from St. Pere begins the second phase of upwards to the Second Division, after winning 14 matches in the first phase. It will take place at the local pavilion next Saturday against CV. Alella. 

The winner of this phase will increase mathematically at the second division, while the second and the third will fight over for the play-off.

I’ve seen almost all the matches played at home, and I only can say that all of those girls are FANTASTIC players. They move very quickly inside the court and of course that few balls get fall down but they overcome it all!!

Nowadays I’m playing volleyball in the same club and one of the girls from this team is my coach and moreover, she is one of the fundators of the club ( apart from other girl who plays in the same team). I hope they can get the first position and  they can increase at second division as they works a lot to get it and they deserve it!!

Borns a new phenomenon called “Informer”, the Facebook goosip of the Catalan universities

It is called "Facebook gossip" and is sweeping among university people. It was created by three students from de UAB a week ago and it have more than 12000 followers. It consits in a page that allows the students who wishes to contact to another, anonymously. You only have to send a message to this page, and then, they will publish it with an anonymous form. 

This is a way to keep you in the loop if you want to know all the gossips from your university. It can be fun meanwhile your name don’t appear on it, so be careful with your university life!

      

In my point of view I think that this is a good way to know all that it happens in your university, high school, and moreover in your town, cause everyone likes to know differents gossips of people that knows. But if someone uses it in a incorrectly form, as sending false messages from anyone, the life of some them can change a lot. People have to use it correctly and thinking!

Gangnam Style!!

The dance track by South Korean pop phenomenon Psy, Gangnam Style, has become Youtube's most-watched video of all time.

The video was posted in Youtube on July and since now, it has notched up more than 808m views. This video pokes fun the consumerism of Gangnam, an affluent suburb of the South Korean capital Seoul.

In the video, the Psy's dances as though he is trotting on a horse, holding the reins and spinning a lasso in a manner that has sparked a global dance craze.

In my point of view, I think that it's a good video but in my opinion there are more videos which are best of that one. Apart from that, I don't know what the song says and maybe it means something really important for all the country and for the singer and maybe for this reason it becomes really popular .

Finally, I'm completely sure that this song is the song of the moment around the world jointly with its dance.

Alarming cases of skin cancer, increases amoung young people.

The incidence of skin cancer among young people , especially melanoma, the most serious, has increased alarmingly. A thousand of doctors around the world gathered in BCN , and they concluded that the situation could still  worse over the coming years. Experts say that the skin has memory, so the cancer can appear years later.

First of all, I belive that our skin is really delicated, so people should be conscious of this. If not, people could have serious problems with it, specially the children.

In my case, I'm really conscious with the sun, as my mum always has talked to me about it. I always put on my body sun cream when I go to the beach or to the swimming pool. Moreover my family and I try not to go to the beach at time of increased solar radiation and for that, the likelihood of skin related diseases decreases in our body.

Be conscious about it, cause your health is in your hands.

Little Meysi, the smallest dog in the world!!

Little Meyso is a polka terrier which survived miraculously because his owner almost thrown it away at birth to belive that it was a piece of placenta.

This tiny dog measures seven centimetre, three less that te dog that holds the title of Guiness World Record, it weighs 250 grams, the same as a hamster, and is the size of a soda can.

   This little dog is like a newborn baby, as their owners have to take care a lot and keep and eye on it as it's very fragile and it could do damage with anything. I think that it's nice to know how the animals specially the dogs in this case, could be as small, but in my opinion, this dog is too much little. I'm sure that it's a toy for all the family and surely, they will pay more attention to the dog than children, in case that they have, that I don't know.

VISCTORIA'S SECRET OFFERS A PREVIEW OF ITS CHRISTMAS PARADE IN NY

The most famous angels in the catwalks will show on 4th December, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show to show the lingerie brand on their bodies. Meanwhile, the couture line offered a preview of his collection last Wednesday in New York with Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Justin Biebier responsibles for putting music to the act.

Every year I saw in the news this amazing Victoria's Secret Fashion Show celebrated on Christmas time, and a few days ago, while I was having dinner, I saw in TV this preview of V.S parade celebrated in New York. I was fascinated and I decided to put this piece of news in my blog. Moreover, I could see all the impressive angels with the spectacular lingerie brand on their perfect bodies in the photos galery from the Vogue webside.

   I think that these girls are really beautiful but the most beautiful in this Christmas preview were the spectacular lingerie. Next 4th December world will be stopped by the magnificant angels in the catwalk.

Skydiver Felix Baumgartner breaks sound barrier!

Last Sunday afternoon a 43 years old man called Felix Baumgartner became the first skydriver to go faster than the speed of sound, reaching a maximum velocity of 1342Km/h. He got the highest jump record as with a helium ballon which was raising him for more that two hours which reached the highest height achieved until now (39000 meteres). Furthermore, he smashed the record for the highest ever freefall.

The descend took about 10 minutes for him and 4 minutes and 19 seconds of these ones, were only in freefall.

   In my view, Felix is a bit crazy man, as nobody would do that, but however he is a really adventured man. A part from doing this new world record, he did another ones very impactant too in his life, and if he hadn't done that, maybe people wouldn't know anything about science as the best way to understand it, is to seeing and make it real. Thanks to this jump and freefall, scientifics and people in general may investigate more about space travel especially in travel to the moon.

Huge turnout for Catalan independence rally

Last 11 September 1.5 million people from all around Catalonia poured into Barcelona Capital to claim the independece from Spain. Thousands and thousands of independence flags were waving until the Catalan parliament, where a group of people spoke infront of the political parties. Lots of newspapers said that it was the biggest march ever in Catalonia, and this news arrived in all around the world. “ Catalonia new stat of Europe” could be read in most of Catalan facades buildings.

In my opinion, I'm agree with this march to the independence, as Catalans need to claim their rights lost for so long time. They are so much days paying more that the others regions and received less. I hope to have someday the independence of Catalonia although it will take much more than expected as the govern will not leave us so easily

A new earthquake hits norther Italy.

At least seventeen killed, ten people were missing  and hundred of injured people in another earthquake in northern Italy, which the magnitude was 5.8 on the Richter scale with the epicenter in Emilia. 

Most of those killed died from the collapse of industrail building that were already affected by tthe earthquake last May 20. 

I think that's a terrible news for Europe and especially for Italy, that now, it'll have to raise taxes to pay the reconstruction of public buildings and the people who were affected, as the government hasn't got enought money for pay all.

This news doesn't affect me because we are living hundred of kilometers far away of the epicenter. Nevertheless, it is a terrible situation for the Italians.

EUROVISION '12

Last Saturday, the 57th edition of the festival Eurovison 2012 took place in Baku (Azerbaijan), where the Spanish representan, Pastora Soler sang Stay with me. After eight years without winning and taking the first ten places,the Spanish won the ten position, entering to the top ten.

The Swedish Loreen sang The Euphoria, song wich she could win the festival with 372 points. With this new win, Sweden accumulates 5 wins in this event.  The second ones, were Russia grandmothers, some of the strong candidates this year, getting to a total of 259 votes.  Classified in the top ten was the goal of Pastora Soler, and gave compliment. So, just after the gala, after living a “magic moment” on stage, the singer said she was “quiet” and “satisfied”.

   In my opinion, I think that Pastora Soler did a excelent concert with “Quedate Conmigo”. Her song did excite the public and even to me, which is difficult to achieve. The first place coudn't be, but the 10 place, its really good.

She did a good job.

Pep Guardiola to end reign as Barcelona coach in summer

Pep Guardiola will stand down as Barcelona manager at the end of the season after deciding not to renew his rolling one-year contract. After led 13 trophies to the Catalan club since 2008, the 41-year-old coach will be succeeded by current assistant Tito Vilanova.

The reasons for his deperture are several, as he said: four years are enough.

The new coach will be Tito Vilanova, who stayed five years since 1984 in La Masia, forming as a midfielder. When he ended his career as a footballer, he returned to the club for trainig as a coach.  

This piece of new is very important to the world of sport, because Pep Guardiola was a very important person in the world of Catalan football who marked a before and an after to the club. 

In my opinion, I think that Guardiola made a right decision after his debut as a coach for the best team in the world for four years.t will be a hard withdrawal but grateful for everything he has done during these years.

Costa Concordia disaster

The Costa Concordia cruiser ran aground on 13th January with more than 4000 passengers on it.                                By the time, sea rescuers have only found 17 bodies, but they belive that it could be more people inside the gigant cruiser. Everything happened the night of 13th January, when most of the passengers were in the dinning room, around  nine o'clock. Suddenly, a loud noise accompanied by a sharp blow, made off alarms. First, the cruiser lurched to one side, and then toward the other. Slowly, the water was coming in, and the panic among the passangers increased. Finally, almost all the people survived and they could arrived at Giglio Porto, where they recived medical attention. Quickly, the captain was arrested as he was the person who decided to diverted to another route.

The big cruiser sank due to collision with a rock.

This news doesn't affects me, because I didn't stay in this cruiser in this moment, so I didn't suffer any consequence. On the other hand, this piece of news aroused my curiosity because in the summer of 2008, my family and I went to the same cruiser for a week. We did the same route but fortunately, we didn't happen anything. We were lucky!!

It's a sad news, because a lot of people died by a human error. 

In this case, the capitan of the Costa Concordia ship is accused and a lot of people are working to find more survivors.

Students will have to pay 80€ this for this year’s selectivity

Students who will finish Batxillerat this course, people older that 25 and 45 years and people who are older that 40 years  with laboral experience or professional accredited, they must to pay 80€ for registration to participate in entrance examinations to public universities in Madrid.                    
This was decided today by the Council of Regional Government, according to the proposal submitted by the public universities in the Community. 

Thus, the price for registration in the general test, is 80€ plus 10€ for each subject of the specific phase, while students engaged will only pay 40€ this phase, plus 10€ for each subject of an examination. The registration fee for the entrance exams for people over 25 and 45 years old, and the corresponding access through acreditation and professional work experience, will be 84,62€.

   In my opinion, I think that it's a good idea overall now, as we are in crisis time, so the Govern need to collect money for pay the public education, public health and government employees (among other things).                                      This news affects me because next year, I will do the selectivity exams and I will pay for the registration and for each specific subject so, it's good to know it now.
