Clear victory of Real Madrid

Real Madrid team win the two matches with to FCBarcelona. With the alternates and without Cristiano in the side, the whites were able to subdue the Catalans, thanks to goals from Benzema and Ramos. To the other hand, Messi scored the Blaugranas team, but Cristiano, who came off the bench, revolutionized the match. 

Finally, the local team won the match 2-1 in the football league competition. Despite the defeat, Barça team still leading the classification with several more points.

The FCB team is probably the best team of the world nowadays, and these defeat is only a bit obstacle for the players. Moreover, we have to consider that Tito Vilanova has cancer, and in fact, he mustn't train the team now. I supose that all the team are slightly affected on it, as having a cancer is not easy for anyone.

I belive in Barça team and specially in Tito! 

PD: I couldn’t saw the match but thanks to my grandfather, who is a fan of Madrid’s team, I knew the result at the same night. 

A flood stops up to 15 Regent Strett stores trading

A flood in central London has shut one of the city’s busiest shopping streets. Aproximately 15 shops, including Zara, Mango, Burberry, Uniqlo and Austin Reed, had being blocked off by a cordon set up by firefighters, who were attempting to pump water away after the burst on Vigo Street. 

It happened today during midday, and thousand of tourists couldn’t visit the famous street.

This is the most important part of this news that I can explain, as it had happened  a few hours ago and the information is not fairly clear. 

   Apart of having not much information, I want to said that If I had been a tourist visiting the London center now, and I couldn’t visit that, or just shopping on the stores from there,  I would be quite angry and disappointed with the city. 

I went to London a year ago and fortunatly it didn’t happen, so I could visit quitly, the most important streets and famous trading.

Describe a person: Sílvia Costa

Sílvia is my little sister and she is 15 years old. She lives with me and with our parents in Sant Pere Pescador. Moreover we live together with a small dog and with two turtles. 

She doesnt' look like me even though some people say the opposite. 

Sílvia is a tall girl for her age and not really thin. Her eyes are brown but with a bit of green around the pupil. She has a lovely face, as it's round with small nose and full lips. Her hair is curly.

   Nowadays she is studing fourth of ESO at Ies Castelló d'Empúries and next year she will study first of social batxillerat at the same high school. 

She used to play the flute and sing in a choral, but she decided to give up it a year ago. Since 2011 she has been playing volleyball at St. Pere's team, and she is fairly good at it!!

Her passion are the brands and she only wants de best things for herself. She is quite a spoiled girl however, my parents control her shoppings, quite the opposite from me. 

   Finally, I want to say that I admire her, because she is a cheerful person even having problems. She's a bossy girl and a stubborn person. 

I love and I will love her forever, though!!

University life!

Last Friday 22 Febrary, part of the second batxillerat class decided to visit the Girona’s University. As the school didn’t organize the outing we had to go on our own. 

At 8:19am we took the train at Figueres station and we arrived at 9:30am at the University. Each one went to those lectures that had chosen and after, we met at the scientific faculty. Part of us, went to lunch at the center, and at 3:48pm the train left, so we arrived at Figueres at 16:25pm aproximately.

   During the morning I assisted at two conferences: the first one I went to see was agronomist engineering with Eva, and this didn’t attrac me, cause I prefer something more technological or economical. At the second one, I attended at Business Administration, Accounting and Finance and Economics conference. It was more interesting but the only the only drawback was that there are about 150 students in each class, and in my opinion it is a lot. 

Moreover, two weeks ago I went to Barcelona for did an admission test at International University. This is a privat one, but it’s the only one around Catalonia that offer a double degree: Business Administration with an organization's engineering  and at the moment this is my favourite one. In a week I’ll know if I am admited or not, and I think that it will be possible.  

   A new period of life will start and I have to chose the best for myself because it'll be my future. 

Spain leads the world in Whatsapp use!!

Spain is the country with the greatest presence in the instant messaging application WhatsApp, due to the high cost of SMS. Other applications like Viber or Line have failed to unseat Whatsapp.

The Mobidia Technology company conducted a study indicating that Spain is the country wtih more presence in the instant messaging application WhatsApp. It is mainly due to the high cost of SMS that Spanish telephone companies have. WhatsApp has nearly 100% market penetration in this country, so it’s a very important effect in today’s society. 

   In my case, I have to recognize that I’m a person who uses Whatsapp aplication every day, and even each hour. It’s so practical and confortable, cause we can be connected with people that is far from us and paying the same each month, with no extra taxas depending with our consume. I think that this application has been a important business in the mobile phone world and a big progres in the comunication. 

The first mobile phone was created 30 years ago and during this period its technology has improved considerably.

Self evaluation:) ( the last one)

My last english presentation in the high school has finished, and at the first impresion it was fairly good!! It was about my research project: Photovoltaics Solar Power. In it, I made the memory project and then in the practical part I did diferents things.

On the one hand, I built two solar ovens, one with carboard and the other one with wood, and on the other hand, I studied the production of energy (during a year) of the photovoltaic plant in Can Pipa. 

As always, I started a bit nervous but as I talked it decreased (not enought). My body and in special my hands and my voice were trembling a little bit but not so much as the last one presentation. The vocabulary of it was very technical and for that reason I had some problems with my pronunciation Apart from these “mistakes” I could finish my presentation ten minutes later. 

   A point to remark, too, is that I didn’t have a good body language, as my eye contact was scarce (I didn’t realize until I saw my video), and it is due to be ashamed to talk in Englisg in front of an audience. For that, I need to practise my pronunciation and belive more in me!

I will improve all my mistakes and I am sure that then, I will be a perfect speaker especially in English.

Solar photovoltaics power - TDR

Solar photovoltaics power
Are  the renewable energies used enough nowadays? Do we take advantage all the energy from the Sun? Are people conscious about its importance?
The theorical part of my research project is related with solar power and its functioning, and the practical part is divided into two field works: on one hand the construccion of a solar oven and on the other hand a study of the efficiency of the solar panels of Can Pipa. This allowed me to compare subsequently the results obtained with the results furnished for the installation company.

Són prou utilitzades les energies renovables actualment? Aprofitem tota l’energia que rebem del Sol? Som conscients les persones de la seva importància?

La part teòrica del meu treball de recerca està relacionada amb aquesta energia solar i els seu funcionament, i la part pràctica queda dividida en dos treballs de camp: per una banda la construcció d’un forn solar, i per altre banda un estudi del rendiment de les plaques solars de Can Pipa que em va permetre comparar posteriorment els resultats obtinguts amb els resultats subministrats per l’empresa instal·ladora.

Ciccio dies; the dog waited every day at church to its owner dead

Tommy, the German shepherd who everyone knew as Ciccio, died at the age of 13 years. 

It shocked the world by loyalty to his owner Maria Lochi, who came daily to the church of Santa Maria degli Angelum, in San Donaci (Bridisi, Italy) and who died two months ago of a heart attack.

The dog became famous for mourn the death of his owner, going every day to the church, where the funeral was held for women of 57 years.

   This fact is very sad, as the love from an animal to someone could seems impossible, but here, we can see that it’s not true. 

This piece of news reminds me the film of Hachiko, the dog that died waiting for his owner in a train station ( it was a real story that happened on Tokio on 1935), and for that reason I decided to give it an special importance. 

I’ve got a dog, and since I saw this film I didn’t think that it could be true, but now, and after reading this piece of news, I am really conscious about the loyalty that a dog can has to its owner.

Volleyball Sant Pere Pescador begins the second phase of ascent home

The senior women's volleyball team from St. Pere begins the second phase of upwards to the Second Division, after winning 14 matches in the first phase. It will take place at the local pavilion next Saturday against CV. Alella. 

The winner of this phase will increase mathematically at the second division, while the second and the third will fight over for the play-off.

I’ve seen almost all the matches played at home, and I only can say that all of those girls are FANTASTIC players. They move very quickly inside the court and of course that few balls get fall down but they overcome it all!!

Nowadays I’m playing volleyball in the same club and one of the girls from this team is my coach and moreover, she is one of the fundators of the club ( apart from other girl who plays in the same team). I hope they can get the first position and  they can increase at second division as they works a lot to get it and they deserve it!!

Borns a new phenomenon called “Informer”, the Facebook goosip of the Catalan universities

It is called "Facebook gossip" and is sweeping among university people. It was created by three students from de UAB a week ago and it have more than 12000 followers. It consits in a page that allows the students who wishes to contact to another, anonymously. You only have to send a message to this page, and then, they will publish it with an anonymous form. 

This is a way to keep you in the loop if you want to know all the gossips from your university. It can be fun meanwhile your name don’t appear on it, so be careful with your university life!

      

In my point of view I think that this is a good way to know all that it happens in your university, high school, and moreover in your town, cause everyone likes to know differents gossips of people that knows. But if someone uses it in a incorrectly form, as sending false messages from anyone, the life of some them can change a lot. People have to use it correctly and thinking!

Research project'12

After working eight months aproximately on my research project, on 12th December I delivered at the high school. It was about photovoltaic solar power and a part from my theorical part, I build a solar oven of cardboard and another one with wood. 

Then, on 14th of January all of second of batxillerat students had to present the project enfront of the three judges that each student had. My turn was at 4:45am and I wasn’t really nervous, cause I practised many times before, enfront my family. My presentation took place at the technology class and it spend at least twenty minutes. In it I talked about the most important things like the procedure that I used, the methodology, my objectives, among other ones.

    After doing a good job, next Tuesday we will know the final results and marks, and I hope to get a good one as it was a hard work for me during the summer and the first moths of second of batxillerat.  

But meanwhile, I trust in me and in my project as I am really proud of it!

Christmas Time!!

It's time to take a break, to stay with the most important people for us, and especially to have fun all together.

   As every year, all my dad's family “caguem el tió” on 24th night and then, we have dinner a special and typical meal. But this year had been special, as we did the dinner on my cousin's new house in Can Pipa. It was amazing!!

The day after, on Christmas day, all my mum's family went to my grandparents house to lunch together. After lunch a lot, we went to Llers to play a “la quina”. There, we met with more family and friends and we were about 40 persons!! We were a lot and in spite of that we didn't win aything. What a pitty!:(

On 26th, my parents, my sister and I went to lunch in Tossa de Mar and then we went shopping to Platja d'Aro. It was a perfect day!!

   Those three days were incredible but I think it was a bit heavy as we ate a lot!

Internet empowers people to make a better world

In my point of view internet doesn't empower us to make a better world but i makes us a better life.
   For companies working on the internet is very useful and they can make money as long as they it softly. Moreover, internet can teach people, specially kids on the school with new technologies. But, what if internet will be vicious for many people? Then it will empower poeple to make a worse world.

   People will start to have a worst life and then, nobody will be goodith oneself. 

If some people could win money, other can lose it, and I think that it's easier to lose than win it. Although, with internet and its components we can progress a lot, always with caution and control.

Volleyball team

As most of you know, I'm in a volleyball team in St. Pere Pescador, with a lot of girls from the town or around it. This year, it's our first as a team ( but we were playing together a year ago, but only for training), so we're really happy with that, especially because most of us didn't play matches before.

Since now, we've played about ten matches (because we have to play in a league of women beginners), and we played twice a month or even, only once a month.

Since today, we let third of twelve teams, so we are in a good position if we thing that it's our first year as a volleyball team. 

The princess diaries I

The Princess Diaries is a funny and entertaining film which tells the story of a young girl, that a day on the other, it changes her life dramatically. Suddenly, she goes from being a mere high school student, to be a princes of a small country called Genovia.

Mia Thermopolis is a teenage klutz . In fact, Mia's only friend at her high school is Lilly. Mia's life takes a dramatic turn, however, when her mom announces that her late biological father was the prince of a small European nation, Genovia. Now Mia is the sole heir to the throne (as her father died in a accident), and her grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi wants to convert the awkward behavior's teen in the royal behavior. It's a daunting task given Mia's lax manners, poise, and hair care, but the girl perseveres her makeover, with the help from her grandmother's security chief, and with a style expert. In the meantime, Mia's romantic affections are torn between the handsome, popular Josh  and the more appropriate Michael, who also happens to be Lilly's brother.

Finally, the young girl gets to be princess of Genovia after a hard and great effort, which cost him some friends in high school and earn other outside it.

In my opinion, I think that The Princess Diaries, is a great film between teenagers and adult people, as it is a perfect film to see in family.  With it, a lot of girls can see as a ugly and klutz teenage can changes and converts she in a beautiful and elegant lady. I think that with this movie, many girls with low self esteem, can get up the esteem.

Costa Concordia disaster

The Costa Concordia cruiser ran aground on 13th January with more than 4000 passengers on it.                                By the time, sea rescuers have only found 17 bodies, but they belive that it could be more people inside the gigant cruiser. Everything happened the night of 13th January, when most of the passengers were in the dinning room, around  nine o'clock. Suddenly, a loud noise accompanied by a sharp blow, made off alarms. First, the cruiser lurched to one side, and then toward the other. Slowly, the water was coming in, and the panic among the passangers increased. Finally, almost all the people survived and they could arrived at Giglio Porto, where they recived medical attention. Quickly, the captain was arrested as he was the person who decided to diverted to another route.

The big cruiser sank due to collision with a rock.

This news doesn't affects me, because I didn't stay in this cruiser in this moment, so I didn't suffer any consequence. On the other hand, this piece of news aroused my curiosity because in the summer of 2008, my family and I went to the same cruiser for a week. We did the same route but fortunately, we didn't happen anything. We were lucky!!

It's a sad news, because a lot of people died by a human error. 

In this case, the capitan of the Costa Concordia ship is accused and a lot of people are working to find more survivors.

SELF-EVALUATION

With this project, personally, I think that I go express myself better front the public, and this time, I wasn't very nervous. I guess this is because I didn't take my notes during the presentation, so this fact, helped me.

Moreover, the fact of I knowing all the students and I didn't hear any noise that desconcentrat me, helped me to be more confident with myself and with that, I could express myself better front all of us. 

As a negative part, I think that maybe I should have a better pronunciation of English, and even a better fluency while I'm speaking. 

In general, I think that Eva and I structured correctly the presentation, separating the topic in different seccions as there were a lot of information to explain, so we explained only the most important. 

Finally, I think that Eva and I did a good job!:)

       I am a student of this high school, and I am here since 2007 and for that, I am writing this letter, to give you my opinion of good and bad points of this center. 
       First of all, I want to point out the decoration, as you know, this high school is a bit sad and grey, and if we could decorate it a little bit more, maybe students would be more aware in class. 
A part from this constructive cristicism, I would congratulate you for creating some good initatives like the reading club, the solar race, the Sant Jorge competition, the musical, the newcomers room, ...
       With all of these points, I will like to help to improve the high school, as visually as academically.

Students will have to pay 80€ this for this year’s selectivity

Students who will finish Batxillerat this course, people older that 25 and 45 years and people who are older that 40 years  with laboral experience or professional accredited, they must to pay 80€ for registration to participate in entrance examinations to public universities in Madrid.                    
This was decided today by the Council of Regional Government, according to the proposal submitted by the public universities in the Community. 

Thus, the price for registration in the general test, is 80€ plus 10€ for each subject of the specific phase, while students engaged will only pay 40€ this phase, plus 10€ for each subject of an examination. The registration fee for the entrance exams for people over 25 and 45 years old, and the corresponding access through acreditation and professional work experience, will be 84,62€.

   In my opinion, I think that it's a good idea overall now, as we are in crisis time, so the Govern need to collect money for pay the public education, public health and government employees (among other things).                                      This news affects me because next year, I will do the selectivity exams and I will pay for the registration and for each specific subject so, it's good to know it now.

A good friend: EVA!

Eva has been a great friend of mine ever since I was a baby. She is very tall (about 1'73m), with brown eyes and long wavy brown hair. She is very, very attractive and beautiful as she is very thin and she has got a friendly face. (For that, she's got a long row of boys waiting for her:))

On the other hand, she seems quite outgoing when you first meet her, but on the inside, she's rather shy. When you get to knowher, you quickly realize that she's an exeptional friend, as Eva is the kind of person who I feel comfortable with. I can tell what I want to her, and she'll never say it to anyone. She's never two-faced and she always tells me what's on her mind. A part from that, we sometimes can got annoyed each other sometimes, but above all, we love each other vey much! <3

   Personally, one thing that I really like about Eva is that she will always be there when I need her.
